Mladen Solomun was born in travnik in 1975, in what was then yugoslavia, and grew up in hamburg after his family moved. germany offered him a place on the under-16 football team. he turned it down to play for the country he was born in.

the record that took him worldwide was a remix. Noir & Haze, "Around", on Noir Music in 2011. fifteen years later it is still his second most-played track on spotify, past 66 million.

he co-founded Diynamic with Adriano Trolio in hamburg, and the label turns twenty in 2026. then 2DIY4 in 2010 for the stranger material, NINL for his 2021 album, and Love Recycled in june 2025, built entirely around reworking old records.

which is the whole point of him. Solomun +1 at Pacha Ibiza runs nineteen sundays in 2026, his twelfth straight year, and he plays five of them alone all night. march brought "Kinesphere" on Diynamic. july brought "Rumpta", his first record with Skrillex.

in june he opened Pacha New York for free, and gave the tickets to people who had come to his fish market show in the bronx.

I held that rule for over ten years. I never questioned it. Once the summer starts, I stay in Europe.

he sat out both coachella weekends this april after surgery on his left ear, and told everyone himself rather than let it be a rumour.
